The Green Glisse team
Our story
Green Glisse was born in 2019 from the passion of a family of Biarritz surfers. Our goal from day one: creating a school where surfing goes hand in hand with kindness, accessibility and respect for the environment.
Since then, we have coached hundreds of surfers from all walks of life on the beautiful Côte des Basques beach. Every season is a new human adventure, a new smile at the end of the first wave.

Mathilde and Axel appeared in Zone Interdite, the news magazine of the French channel M6, in a documentary about their daily life as surf school owners at the Côte des Basques. The programme was rebroadcast in August 2026.
Our instructors
Axel
Founder & Instructor
A surfer since his childhood in Biarritz, Axel founded Green Glisse in 2019 with a simple ambition: making surfing accessible to everyone, whatever their age or level. Holder of the BPJEPS Surf diploma, he shares his passion with enthusiasm, kindness and a real sense of teaching, adapting each session to his students' needs. Also a trained osteopath with a Handi Surf qualification, he brings a unique approach centred on the body, movement and each person's abilities. This double expertise allows him to coach all audiences, including people with disabilities, in a safe, caring and adapted environment.
Mathilde
Founder & Competitive surfer
A former competitor at regional level, Mathilde welcomes you to the school with her smile and infectious good mood. Passionate about surfing since forever, she puts her experience at your service to advise you, guide you and make sure your time with Green Glisse is as pleasant and memorable as possible. Always attentive, she does everything so that every student feels welcome, supported and leaves wanting to get back in the water.
Léo
Instructor & Competitor
Holder of the BPJEPS Surf diploma for 4 years, Léo competes in bodyboard on the IBC world circuit and has been passionate about board sports since he was very young. Patient, pedagogical and always smiling, he coaches every student with enthusiasm and professionalism. Thanks to his competition experience and his deep knowledge of the ocean, he adapts his teaching to all levels so that everyone can progress safely while having as much fun as possible in the waves.
